Toddler Summer Camp The RKMS Toddler Summer program is an introductory program for the students who are entering the Toddler program in September. It is designed to transition the toddlers from home to a classroom setting. The children spend part of the morning exploring the Montessori environment and part of the time outdoors. Students enrolling in the program must be 2 years of age on the first day of the program in June, per DCFS guidelines. Transitional Summer Camp The RKMS Transitional Summer program is geared towards children who are entering their first year of the RKMS Early Childhood program in September. The program is designed to gradually transition the child to the Early Childhood Montessori classroom environment. The program will promote a child’s sense of order, concentration, coordination and independence while emphasizing the Practical Life and Sensorial areas of the classroom. The children will be introduced to the ground rules, guidelines and social needs that are an integral part of the curriculum. Early Childhood Camp The RKMS Early Childhood program is for students who have completed at least one year in the Early Childhood program or be eligible as a second year Early Childhood student. Each 2 week session is based on a different theme such as exploring the concepts of botany and other horticultural concepts; exploring various cultures; exploring air, land and water, etc. The children will participate in field trips that pertain to the theme. Brochures for each of the above camps are available in January. |
